The 2014 National Ethnic Press and Media Council of Canada ceremony for the Awards is scheduled for Friday, October 24, 2014, from 6:00 to 9:30 pm.
The Awards will be presented to recipients by Her Honour Ms. Elizabeth Dowdeswell, QC, The L. Governor of Ontario, at the Lieuftenant Governor’s suite, at the main parliament building, Queen’s Park, Toronto On.
The Awards program seeks to identify and recognize deserving individuals, members of the diverse communities of Canada, organizations, ethnic publications and journalists from all over Canada which are making a profound difference in our society, the nation and the world.
Since the introduction of this program by the NEPMCC in 1989, we have honoured many achievers, journalists and ethnic publications.
This year the NEPMCC will recognize 14 publications from 14 different linguistic Canadian communities, 14 individuals for their distinguished contributions to Canadian Multiculturalism and publications for their contribution to the cause of equality and social justice for all Canadians as well for their struggles for democracy and freedom of expression.
Attendance at the ceremony is by invitation only.
